Maps of Early Phoenix

February 28, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Free

Drawing on his private collection of early maps, historian John Southard will share stories of early Phoenix and its development. John will take us through the early days of the City and Territory and dispel myths like the State’s southern border is on a slant because the surveyors got lost heading to Yuma. This talk is held in conjunction with our Mapping Early Phoenix exhibit which will be open for tours that evening.

Discounted parking in the Heritage Garage with validation.

Free and open to the public, but please let us know you’re coming by registering at the bottom of this page.

This talk will take place in the Lath House Classroom, located upstairs in the wooden pavilion structure behind the Rosson House at Heritage Square. We’ll see you there!
