Inspired by our popular Seances and Spiritualists tour, we have taken our show to the internet and expanded into a four part series, taking place every Friday in June at 11am AZ time.
Each talk will tackle a different facet of this fascinating subject — from the Fox Sisters to mediums and beyond — we will touch on it all, over the course of this 4-part series!
In this session:
At the center of the Spiritualist religion was the seance, led by mediums and performed in homes and to sold-out audiences alike. Learn how these gatherings worked, how female mediums pushed against social restrictions of the time, and what tricks were played on the grieving.
