If these walls could talk!

Welcome to the Heritage Square Community Pages. For 118 years, the Rosson House, the cornerstone of Heritage Square, has endured the tides of change and stood witness to Phoenix history. She was here when the Territory became a state. She withstood prohibition, world war, and the Great Depression. Babies were born to her residents and family members died on her watch. Decisions were made, families were raised. Life was lived.

The buildings of Heritage Square, known as Block 14 to early Phoenicians, grew up around the Rosson House and formed a closely-knit little community that was quickly enveloped by the growing town. These community pages offer a glimpse of the themes that built this Block and created the landscape upon which Phoenix cut its teeth.

Staff, volunteers, and the public are welcome to contribute items in the categories of From the Collection, Behind the Scenes, Brief Histories, and Gallery Glimpses. Stay tuned – add your comments – and help shape the conversation!
